2024

An Impactful Year of Growth

We have so much to share about this year! Keep scrolling, or choose where you want to begin.

Welcome, Elise!

In 2024, we said goodbye to our founding Executive Director, Rose Money (you can read her goodbye message here!). Elise Schaff Laubach, a long-time member of FPTV's community, is our new Executive Director.

  • Dear Friend,

I am thrilled and humbled to share that I am now the Executive Director at Family Promise of Tualatin Valley! Being part of this organization since its inception—first as a volunteer, next as a board member, and then as Fund Development Manager—has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I have witnessed firsthand the resilience of the families we serve and the unwavering generosity of our community. Together, we have grown from the seedling of an idea into a thriving organization providing shelter, resources, and hope to families experiencing homelessness across our community.

As we look ahead, I am committed to deepening our partnerships, advocating for structural changes in our cities and state, and expanding our impact so that every family in our community has a safe place to call home. None of this would be possible without you—our volunteers, donors, partners, and friends—who believe in our mission and work alongside us to make it a reality.

Thank you for your continued support, trust, and dedication. I am excited for all that we will accomplish together in this next chapter.

    With gratitude,

    Elise Schaff Laubach

Bridge to Home

Bridge to Home is the heart of FPTV. Here, we shelter families, provide life-changing case management services, serve meals, and bring together our guests and volunteers in community. After we purchased our own building last year, we have been hard at work settling in – and making updates to the building so it can meet our unique needs. Read on for a look inside our building!

Renovation Updates

Realizing the promise of our own building has required a lot of elbow grease! Hear from Operations & Facilities Manager Mike Moshenek on the latest updates.

Case Management

While in shelter, families receive comprehensive and individualized case management services, based on each family's unique strengths, barriers to rehousing, and goals. Each family is partnered with one of our dedicated case managers, who works with them throughout their shelter stay to progress toward rehousing.

Building Trust, Transforming Lives

Meet the Johnson Family. When the Johnsons arrived at FPTV, past traumas and mistrust in the system made it difficult for them to engage in the re-housing process. Through weeks of compassionate listening and honest conversations with their FPTV case manager, the Johnsons built their confidence in FPTV and refocused on their housing goals. Their hard work paid off: not only did they find a house they could call home, but they also built their support network, making friends with their neighbors and volunteering at their kids' school. Today, they are thriving in their home – secure in stable jobs, engaged in their community, and building a brighter future. Their journey is a testament to the power of trust-building and community support.

Preventing Family Homelessness

Our work goes far beyond shelter. Through eviction prevention programs, we help families stay in their homes and avoid homelessness. Rapid rehousing offers temporary rental assistance to help families regain stability, while our long-term programs provide extended support for families facing disabling conditions. Each program is designed to empower families and pave the way toward lasting independence and success.

Thank you, volunteers!

“The dedication and creativity of FPTV volunteers are truly inspiring and have led to countless memorable events for our families in shelter. Whatever your passion, there’s a place for you among our volunteers."

Gina Olson, Volunteer Services Manager
